What Will You Fight For?

Screenprinting/ink project I did in advanced printmaking. It was originally one of my throw away prints, but after using it as a draft for what I want to do with the image, I liked it so much (the guerilla style- done seemingly hastily yet purposefully), I decided to drop it in my gallery.
The original image is that of Southeast Asian guerillas, fighting against dictatorships and capitalism. While the aim of their struggle is clear, I began to ask: what is it that each person themselves is fighting for? Sure, they might have organized under one main reason, but I'm sure that there is more than that. Soldiers, espically non/ ex military groups fight for more than one purpose. One may fight for freedom, another for his daughters, still another for money. No matter the reason, it is important that we all have something worth fighting for, something worth believing in.
